The Southern California Ambulance Association is an industry trade group comprised of private emergency and non-emergency ambulance service providers dedicated to serving the residents and visitors of Los Angeles and Orange counties.
Our members work cooperatively on common issues affecting our industry and the stakeholders we serve. The Southern California Ambulance Association has served as a unified voice for the leaders of our industry for over 75 years.
Focused on a high commitment to quality, our members dedicate time and resources participating on local commissions and committees representing the Association and our interests in various community forums. From Downtown, to Sacramento and Washington D.C., our members work cooperatively for the betterment of our industry so they can continue to deliver the vital services our industry provides every day.
Collectively, with approximately 1,200 ambulances, our 25 member companies are ready to serve 24-hours a day, 365 days a year.

The Los Angeles County Ambulance Association (LACAA) and the Ambulance Association of Orange County (AAOC) have merged.
On Thursday, November 9, 2023, the Leaders of the Los Angeles County Ambulance Association and the Ambulance Association of Orange County, met to finalize the formation of the Southern California Ambulance Association.
We are now the Southern California Ambulance Association (SCAA).

The Los Angeles County Ambulance Association held its last annual holiday party.
On Tuesday, December 5, 2023, The gathering took place at Clearman’s North Woods Inn in La Mirada and included both LACAA and AAOC members.
The annual luncheon is named in honor of Jim McNeal, the last CEO of now-defunct Schaefer Ambulance Service, one of the historic founding members of the SCAA in 1948.
